Andy Tommo was born in Hull and raised in a village. Here his love of music led him to start an alternative indie label, work in a record store and play in (badly) and photograph bands. He finally upped sticks and moved to London via Blackpool and Fylde College, where he is now based as an advertising, fashion and people photographer.
It is fair to say Tommo’s main photographic influences come from music, more specifically the alternative underground “where the interesting stuff always thrives”, and his love of old horror films. He uses the attitude and energy he derives from these sources to create the scenes which characterise his work.
